You are right about that. In over a san of over forty years I have acquired a hugh amount of information on the descendants of the three King brothers who came into North Carolina from Virginia about 1750. Of the six sons of Peter King II of Greene County, Tennesse, only one has known (documented) descendants.
I am a descendant of Johnston King, Sr. of Randolph County, North Carolina and brother of Peter II. After submitting to YDNA testing 8 years ago and joining the King Surname Project at Family Tree DNA, I was pleasantly surprised with seven matches with others who were also descended from him.
I also have a match with a descendant of Peter II. He is now deceased, so we need others from that branch or with unknown King ancestry in Tennessee to step up.

Terry it is possible for our family line be the same for our forefathers waqs from Virginia and NC then moved to Alabama then to Ten. then Ark. and finally Oklahoma.

James Robert King Jr.'s father's name is William Jackson King, from Selmer, TN. And William Jackson King's father was James Robert King Sr. also from TN. Married to Mary Josephine Joyce. James Robert King Sr.'s father's name was Jackson J. King who was married to Mary Jane Mask. I have found that most of my family came through NC, Missouri, TN, Michigan.
